The Cassini-Huygens probe is scheduled to arrive at Saturn to begin a four-year study of Saturn, its rings, and many moons. After a seven-year journey, the Cassini orbiter will orbit Saturn and release the Huygens probe to the surface of the moon Titan. The effort has five areas of study: the planet, its rings, its magnetosphere, Titan, and Saturn's other moons. The mission is a joint effort between NASA, the European Space Agency, and Italy's space agency. Both the orbiter and the probe are marvels of engineering with redundancy of almost everything: the engines, transmitters, recorders, and computers. The mission is scheduled to end in 2008.
