The main topic of the seventh Oberwolfach Conference on the mathematical aspects of celestial mechanics was the tripple collision technique exemplified by the work of McGehee (1974). Among the topics covered were central configurations of four bodies with one inferior mass, boundary manifolds for energy surfaces in celestial mechanics, symmetric and regularized coordinates on the plane triple collision manifold, and periodic waves travelling in a nonintegrable one-dimensional lattice. Also discussed were the concept of integrability on Cantor sets for Hamiltonian systems, global sensitivity to velocity errors at the libration points, a consistent semianalytic theory for a planetary or moon orbiter perturbed by a third body, and a generalization of the Szebehely equation for three dimensions.
