A wide spectral range reduction system image processing technique is applied to photographic plates in the H-alpha + forbidden N II and V-bands, taken with a Schmidt telescope, in order to obtain the surface photometry of S254-S257. Calibrated maps are given for the H II region, superposing two or more plates with different exposure times and removing the star images to yield (1) an E-map in the (H-alpha + forbidden line N II + continuum), (2) a V-map in the continuum at V-band, and (3) and (E-V)-map in the (H-alpha + forbidden line N II) emission. Based on the calibrated maps, the morphological structure and mass distribution of S255 and S257 are discussed. The location of observed nebulae on a surface brightness diagram, expressed as magnitude/sq arcmin, is given together with that of other nebulae.
