The problem of computing model spectra of accreting neutron stars is
considered. Computing model spectra poses two intricately coupled
problems: a magnetohydrodynamical one and the radiative transfer
problem. The geometry of the radiation sources and the deceleration
mechanism of the accretion flow are investigated.
