Multiple scattering of radiation in a Doppler broadened spectral line in an infinite medium is concidered. The primary sources of radiation are assumed to be space-independent and isotropic. Continuum absorption is neglected. The exact expression is found for the intensity of radiation, the frequency dependence of the power of the primary sources is arbitrary. The intensity is also obtained for the case of time-dependent primary sources assuming that the velocity of light is infinite.
