An ellipsoidal light curve of 0.07 mag amplitude having a probable 5.648-day period has been observed in an optical photometric study of the optical counterpart proposed for the X-ray pulsar 1E1145.1-6141. The IR colors observed are consistent with a reddened B2 supergiant having no IR excess at a distance of 8 kpc. These results may be seen as implying a massive X-ray binary system similar to Vela X-1.
