We performed a joint fit of the remnant integrated spectrum of Cas A, including observations in the radio, IR (Spitzer), X-ray (Chandra and RXTE), and gamma ray (HEGRA) bands. These data were fitted simultaneously using a model of the photon spectrum produced by a single population of relativistic electrons and protons. The model includes contributions from the synchrotron, inverse-Compton, nonthermal bremsstrahlung and neutral-pion decay processes. The degeneracy among the fit parameters is reduced by imposing a number of physical constraints. We also consider a case in which the high-energy emission is produced by a different particle population than the radio emission. The resulting model fits constrain the global mean properties of the nonthermal particle population in Cas A. We emphasize the importance of GLAST observations for understanding the source of the gamma ray emission from Cas A.
