We present an overview of the tools being made available for use with the Herschel Space Observatory. The Herschel Common Science System (HCSS) will include proposal submission, observation planning, and data processing tools. Researchers planning to observe with Herschel will use a single tool for observation planning and proposal submission. This tool, HSpot, is based on the similar tool used for the Spitzer Space Telescope (SPOT). Also being developed as part of the HCSS is a complete data processing environment that will allow full reduction and analysis of all Herschel data. We provide a look at HSpot and the Herschel AOTs through which observers will plan their observations. We also will provide a summary of data processing within the HCSS that is currently in development.
