We present the results of a systematic analysis of the world sample of optical/near-infrared afterglow light curves observed in the pre-Swift era by the end of 2004. We analyzed this sample in an attempt to detect the predicted underlying supernova light component. To gain statistical insight on the phenomenological properties of these supernova, we have also corrected this sample now for the visual extinction in their host galaxies.
