The interaction between the solar wind and interstellar medium creates a population of hot neutral hydrogen in the heliosphere that can be detected and studied with the Hubble Space Telescope (HST), since these neutrals produce absorption in Lyman-α lines observed by HST from nearby stars. Analogous absorption from neutrals within the astrospheres surrounding the observed stars is also detectable. The Lyman-α absorption signature works only for solar-like stars, but for the red giant α~Tau there is a Mg~II absorption signature that is also believed to be astrospheric. I review some of what we have learned recently from the HST observations of heliospheric and astrospheric absorption.
