The molecular hydrogen formation processes have been studied on water ice surfaces in conditions relevant to the dense interstellar medium (ISM). Experiments have shown that the presence of hydrogen already adsorbed on ice surfaces increases the sticking coefficient of other atoms and molecules. We have experimentally measured the sticking coefficient of D2 molecules at different beam temperature on non porous amorphous water (np-ASW) ice surface held at 10 K. The technique is based on the monitoring of the D2 residual gas pressure in the vacuum chamber during the sample exposure using a Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer (QMS).
