We present observations of pure rotational H2 lines carried out with the Infrared Spectrograph (IRS) on board the Spitzer Space Observatory towards the NGC1333 star forming region. These observations are used to derive the H2 column density, rotational temperature and H2 ortho-to-para ratio in the shocked gas. The measured ratio is found to be significantly out of equilibrium, which suggests, in agreement with previous studies, that it is a fossil from an earlier epoch, when the gas was cooler than observed today.
