Statistical evidence is given that in the optical spectra of quasars with absorption lines the lines that are strongly shifted from the position corresponding to the quasars velocity (so that their relative velocity is comparable with the speed of light), like slightly shifted absorption lines, arise in a matter that is genetically associated with the quasars.
