The analysis of the disparition brusque phase of the prominence on August 18, 1980 is presented including time development, velocities of knots of the prominence, energetic characteristics, relation to the other features of solar activity, coronal and solar radio emission. Some parts of the prominence material moved out through the solar corona with a velocity of about 400-500 km/s at two solar radii and were ejected into interplanetary space. The decrease of the intensity of the 530.3 nm emission coronal line, observed after the event at the same location, was interpreted as a fast coronal transient with a mass of three trillion kg.
