Spectra of the 7th magnitude star HD 105262 identify it as a field horizontal-branch star. The Balmer lines are narrow and the Balmer jump is large, implying a low surface gravity, yet the only other lines detectable at 43 A/mm are Ca II 3933 A and Mg II 4481 A. The space motions of this object are too low for it to have been identified kinematically as a Population II star.
