Our knowledge of solar nebula processes suggest Mg-rich crystals are signposts of pristine materials that were processed in the nebula, be they nebular condensates or annealed ISM grains. Therefore, we examine the connection between the existence of crystalline silicate features and the diminishment of the near-infrared flux in the spectral energy distribution of Herbig Ae/Be stars. Our results show that based on this qualitative analysis, there is no clear direct connection between the existence of crystals with the decrease of near-infrared flux.
