The final stages of the evaporation of primordial black holes may give rise to gamma-ray bursts. Making use of realistic pi-meson multiplicity distributions in quark and gluon jets, we estimate the sensitivity of gamma-detectors in the 100 MeV energy range to observe these bursts. We find that the observation of individual black hole explosions by these detectors is very unlikely.
