A radio continuum observation of the galaxy MCG 5-29-86 was conducted at 6 and 20 cm using the Very Large Array of NRAO, in order to clarify the nature of a pair of peculiar jets emerging symmetrically from the nuclear region perpendicular to the major axis. The galaxy's optical features and the radio survey are discussed. Stronger radio emission than a few mJy could not be detected, and a hypothesis alternative to nuclear activity is proposed: that the jet-like feature is not a jet but a faint disk seen edge-on, and the main part is just a central bulge of prolate shape. Photographs taken with the Schmidt telescope show that the jet-like features involve neither young population objects nor dark lanes indicating gaseous matter.
