We propose a 130 ksec observation of the obscured NL Sy1 NGC 7314. We will track the response of the pronounced, ionized Fe K emission complex to continuum variations as a probe of the inner disk s ionization balance. We expect to probe the ionization balance down to 4 ksec timescales, or about 150 gravitational radii. We will search for narrow red- or blue- shifted emission or absorption lines in the Fe K bandpass, determine the nature of the soft X-ray emission (scattered or thermal emission) and attempt to confirm if an ionized absorber is present. We will also quantify the extremely rapid variability by measuring the Power Spectral Density function to explore Seyfert/X-ray Binary analogies. Simultaneous EPIC and OM data will probe X-ray/UV variability correlations.
