The current state of microlensing searches for extrasolar planets is summarized. The basics of the method are explained, the advantages and disadvantages are discussed and compared with other planet-search techniques. The teams active in the microlensing searches (OGLE, MOA, PLANET, MicroFUN) are presented. A number of recent observational and theoretical results on planet microlensing are mentioned. The excellent prospects for detecting planets with microlensing in the near future are highlighted.
