In eclipsing binary systems both the dynamical and the astrophysical evolution may be affected by a third body. SV Camelopardalis is one of the most interesting and best observed representatives of the short period subclass of RS CVn stars, and it seems to have a third component (e.g. Sommer 1956; Frieboes-Conde & Herczeg 1973; Albayrak et al. 2001; Lehmann, Hempelmann, & Wolter 2002). Evidence for this third body are based mainly on analyses of O--C diagram of the system. In the present study we give a new estimation for the third body's orbit and its properties. This estimation is based again on the O--C diagram, but we collected and used more times of minima than previous works, including some unpublished ones. Another difference between our work and former studies is that we fitted simultaneously a parabola describing the secular period variation of the system and parameters of the light time effect caused by the third body. Applying this we avoid the appearance of false periodic terms after the subtraction of the secular variations from the O--C diagram (see Borkovits & Hegedüs 2002).
