The detection of a neutral hydrogen shell, indicative of past supernova activity, in association with the young pulsar PSR 0740-28 of the Puppis region of the Milky Way is reported. The correlation between the positions of the pulsar and the shell GS 241-01+15 was noted during an analysis of a 21-cm neutral hydrogen survey of the Puppis window, conducted on the 43-m NRAO radio telescope. The pulsar is located on the eastern edge of the H I shell, coincident with a fairly strong 21-cm emission peak and adjacent to another extended nonthermal radio source. Velocity measurements of peak emission from the hydrogen shell and the pulsar absorption spectrum indicate that the pulsar and the shell are equally distant from the sun. Considerations of the ages of the pulsar and supernova remnant and the displacement of the pulsar from the center of the shell suggest that PSR0740-28 may represent the remnant of an early supernova in a stellar group formed by the expanding H I shell.
