A terrestrial impact crater 55 km east of Flagstaff, in the Arizona desert, discovered in 1891. Its several alternative names include Barringer Crater, after Daniel M Barringer, who in the 1930s was the first to investigate it and the first to suggest its extraterrestrial origin.
