A general theory of radiative transfer in a homogeneous plasma with strong magnetic field is developed, and the linear and nonlinear equations generalizing the corresponding equations of scalar radiative transfer in isotropic media are derived. Solutions are presented for cases where the magnetic field is perpendicular to the surface, such as diffuse reflection of radiation from a semiinfinite medium where the sources are far from the surface, as in Milne's problem, and either have constant intensity, increase linearly or quadratically with optical depth, or exponentially decrease from the surface.
