The temporal evolution of spectral features from high resolution spectra of the β CMa variable γ Peg is described. Though these observations are almost consistent with the bouncing shell model of Smith and McCall (1978), the authors emphasize on a shock wave model as suggested by the observation of simultaneous supersonic blue and red emission components.
