High-resolution radio observations of the remnant of Tycho's supernova of AD 1572 have revealed a compact source within 1 arcmin of its centre. Previous studies have not ruled out the intriguing possibility that this is the neutron star produced by the supernova. This paper presents observations of H I made with the VLA, which show that 0022+6352 is beyond Tycho's supernova remnant, and hence not associated with it.
