A new planetary nebula (PNe) has been discovered during an extensive search for optically detectable galaxies in the zone of avoidance. The nebula (angular diameter = 25 sec) has a very low surface brightness and a strikingly smooth appearance, is highly evolved and lacks a visible central star up to mb = 21. A spectrum shows emission lines of H-alpha + (NII), (OIII), and possibly (SII).
