Some comments are made on the computation of solar active region magnetic field in the last thirty years, especially on some errors in linear force-free field representations. A a new method based on quasi-linear force-free field is suggested. Also, fast Fourier transformation applied to linear force-free field computation is re-examined. As an example, the field configuration of NOAA 9165 active region is computed, using three different methods. The comparison between the computed results and the fine - filtergram observed at Gan-Yu station of Purple Mountain observatory.
