We present preliminary results of the surface photometry of a sample of blue compact dwarf galaxies (BCDGs). A total of 28 galaxies have been observed in the BVRI bands. From these data the contour maps and surface brightness distributions in each band have been built. Contour maps and surface profiles of the 22 galaxies already analysed are presented, together with preliminary conclusions regarding their morphology and structural components.
