Fundamental Aspects Of Astrophysics, Plasma Production And Heating By Laser Beams
Scientific paper
A new approach to study astrophysics is introduced. Intense lasers can be used to study thermodynamic properties of plasmas near or interior of stars. By focusing on self-similarity of dynamics of high-Mach number shock and matter interaction, radiation hydrodynamics, non-LTE atomic process, and so on, we can study integrated physical phenomena in Universe with use of intense lasers. With use of ultra-intense lasers, we can generate electron-positron fireball in a tiny scale but with high energy density. In the present paper, history from laser fusion to the present subject is described, and physical properties of laser produced plasma are briefly explained for non-specialists. There view points necessary to connect laser plasmas with Astrophysical plasmas, sameness, similarity, and resemblance are introduced by briefly explaining examples. .
