Astronomer, born in Pisa, Italy. Director of the observatory at
Florence, he discovered the brilliant comet (Donati's Comet) of 1858. He
was the first to observe a comet's spectrum (Tempel's Comet of 1864).
Inspired the foundation of Acretri Observatory....
