For the past 5 years we have been engaged in a search of nearly the entire northern sky for bright objects in the outer solar system. Our survey has detected more than 60 Kuiper belt objects brighter than about R=21. Of these largest Kuiper belt objects a handful stick out as unique worlds. We'll discuss the individual aspects of 2003 UB313, 2005 FY9, and 2003 EL61 and show the diversity of large bodies that can exist in the outer solar system.
