The basic elements of the Helios Experimenter Data Handling System are described. Overall data flow is described, and the basic subsystems of the experimenter data analysis system are discussed including the data processing, reduction, analysis, monitoring, servicing, and the supporting subsystem. The handling of data files is examined, taking the following into consideration: the large scale of the experimenter data base, the necessity of processing and analyzing data in short time, and the multitude of storage media for the experimental data.
