Stellar Rotation: Magnetic Fields
Scientific paper
Zeeman Doppler imaging (ZDI) is a technique employing spectropolarimetry to investigate magnetic fields on active, rapidly-rotating stars. ZDI is used to initially detect magnetic activity on a target star, and subsequently to derive information relating to the surface distribution of the magnetic field. The aim of this paper is to present the principles of ZDI and some of the results of work in this area.
