The use of large astronomical telescopes to study the dynamic structure of the young clusters in the Magellanic Clouds is reported. These are similar to old clusters in the galaxy. Understanding their formation conditions and why they are no longer formed in our galaxy would help in understanding the processes which led to star formation in the collapsing protosystem.
