The physical condition of an emitter is estimated from the relative intensities of the bands of the emitting molecule by using the potential energy curves, r-bar centroids, and Franck-Condon factors (FCFs) of the bandheads in the band system. The (0,0) band of the (A - X) system of YO has been found in the umbral spectrum of the sun and in M-type stellar spectra. Here, vibrational FCFs, r-bar centroids, and Morse potential energy curves of X 2Sigma(+), A 2Pi(r), A-prime 2Pi(r), and A-double prime 2Pi(r) states of YO are analyzed using experimental data available in the literature.
