The X-ray outburst of the galactic black hole candidate XTEJ 1817-330 reached a maximum flux of 1.2 Crab (PCA, 2-30 keV) on 2006 January 30. Since then, this source has slowly declined while continuing to exhibit a soft X-ray spectrum. The decline reached 10-15 mCrab during 2006 May 18-31. However, the source brightening slightly over June 1-5 while it transitioned to the X-ray hard state. Observations on June 7, 9, and 11 show a roughly steady count rate (24-28 mCrab), with a hard spectrum and elevated levels in the power density continuum (rms ~ 0.2, integrated over 0.1 to 10 Hz for full PCA bandwidth).
