The instruments onboard INTEGRAL, which utilize the coded-mask imaging technique, pose new technical challenges to the traditional forward-folding spectroscopy. We describe some functionality that has been incorporated in to the version 12 XSPEC release to address these challenges, such as the capability to simultaneously fit multiple sources and backgrounds with distinct physical models and response matrices within a single FoV. Examples using INTEGRAL/SPI data obtained during the performance verification phase and Crab campaign are presented and discussed.
