The 3-dimensional structure of the X-ray emitting hot plasmas along the lines of sight to make up the observed 0.5-2 keV X-ray background is unknown. The "only" way to unveil the 3-D distribution of the soft X-ray emitting Galactic hot plasmas is to discover and study "X-ray shadows" cast by dense molecular clouds at "known" distances. We have performed such X-ray shadow experiments with XMM-Newton observations awarded in AO2 cycle, but our data were severely contaminated by the flaring particle background. We therefore request for another set of X-ray shadow observations, including repeat of the previously awarded targets.
