We request time for an eclipse timing and rotational modulation observation of the eclipsing RS CVn system XY UMa. Eclipse mapping furthers our investigations of the morphologies of active stellar atmospheres. Earlier eclipse mapping observations have given contradictory results: sometimes the coronae appear compact (solar-like), at other times they appear extended. Long uninterrupted observations covering over 2 stellar rotations are needed to ensure a view of the quiescent corona amidst the frequent flaring. The eclipse mapping will reveal the coronal scale heights and spatial size scales. We will observe 3 stellar orbits and 6 or 7 eclipses. We expect to resolve spatial structures with sizes less than 100,000 km, or 5 percent of the G star radius.
