RXJ0648.0-4418 is a pulsating soft X-ray source in a binary containing a hydrogen depleted subdwarf O6 star, HD49798. It is currently unclear whether this compact X-ray source is a NS or a white WD. In either case it corresponds to a previously unobserved evolutionary stage of a massive binary system, after common envelope and spiral-in. This source was already observed in 2 short observations as part of the EPIC GT and gave interesting results on the (pulse and orbital phase resolved) spectral analysis. We propose a 100ks observation to follow the system for a large fraction (75%) of its orbital period. This observation will yield the first measurement of M_c/M_x and will give a deeper insight into the spectral variability of this unique binary system.
