In the XMM era, enormous strides have been made in understanding the structure of the Galactic Center on scales far too small to be observed in other galaxies. We propose to study the larger scale structure of the Galactic bulge, which may be readily compared to structures in other galaxies. We propose measuring the temperature of the soft components of the Galactic X-ray bulge as close to the nucleus as possible, through Baade's Window. We will then measure the change in temperature with distance from the nucleus. From these measures we expect to determine the thermal history of the gas in the X-ray emitting bulge and thus the impact of the central engine on the X-ray bulge.
