Warm absorber observations of Seyfert galaxies have shown that they provide a powerful tool to study circumnuclear regions of AGNs. The aim of this proposal is to extend this work to higher redshift, higher luminosity quasars, and thus begin to investigate the range of properties of X-ray/UV absorbers and their relation to other components of an AGN. We propose to observe two quasars with known OVI absorbers in UV and for which ROSAT data suggest the presence of a warm absorber. With the superior sensitivity of XMM EPIC, we expect to discover warm absorbers in these sources.
