We propose to observe the massive colliding wind binary HD15558 with XMM-Newton. HD15558 has the longest orbital period (440 days) of any known O-star spectros- copic binary. EPIC and RGS spectra of this system will allow us to constrain hydrodynamic models of adiabatic colliding wind O + O binaries and will also provide important clues about the origin of the hard X-ray emission detected in the spectra of some presumably single early-type stars. The EPIC field of view further includes a number of other O-stars from the very young open cluster IC1805. The XMM data combined with our ongoing multiwavelength campaign will enable us to draw a complete picture of the high-energy processes in IC1805.
