Recent optical and mid-IR constraints suggest that the putative torus surrounding Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) may recede with increasing AGN power. Such a result, if true, has important ramifications on AGN unification and the evolution of supermassive black holes (SMBHs). Surprisingly, the bulk of the high-z QSOs used to establish this result lack X-ray constraints. We therefore propose XMM-Newton observations for this otherwise robustly-studied sample to address several remaining questions. The resulting X-ray constraints will be compared to existing [OIII] and 6um AGN continuum luminosities to yield the most robust constraints on potential luminosity dependencies to date.
