We demonstrate how the VO enables science using the new AstroGrid VOexplorer interface to locate the 2XMM pre-release catalogue and then filter an extended source sample and cross match with the optical SDSS DR5 catalogue using a ConeSearch workflow. We demonstrate VO visualization and analysis tools such as TopCat and Aladin using the resultant catalogue and images and hence derive photometric redshifts of optical galaxies associated with each XMM cluster, allowing the determination of a mean photo-z and the determination of X-ray to optical properties.
