X-ray observations of recently discovered Intermediate Polars, reveal new complex temporal and spectral properties of this class of asynchronously rotating magnetic Cataclysmic Variables (CVs). Accretion onto the magnetized white dwarf is found to occur with different patterns. Also, a soft X-ray emission component, previously known to be a characteristics of the synchronous Polar systems, is now detected in an increasing number of Intermediate Polars. This re-opens the debate on the evolutionary link between the two subclasses of magnetic CVs.
