We propose a 50 ksec observation of the gravitationally lensed system B1422+231 to better study the nearby group associated with the lensing galaxy. Previous Chandra observations have detected the group in X-rays, but had insufficient counts for spatial and spectral modeling. Better statistics can be used to improve models of the mass profile of the lens and to study the properties of a galaxy group at moderate redshift.
