LMSAL and NIST are developing position-sensitive X-ray strip detectors based on TES (Transition Edge Sensor) microcalorimeter arrays for solar physics. An important application of these devices will be the study of high-temperature (e.g. Fe XXV) X-ray lines at high ( 1600) spectral and temporal resolution. Diagnostics from these lines should provide significant new insight into the physics of microflares and the early stages of flares. In this poster, we will discuss the current status of our laboratory research and applicability to future solar Explorers and other space missions.
