The development of instruments for low energy X-ray astronomy is described. The first experiment performance, Astro 8, is mentioned in detail. The preliminary results are given and the future program is presented. The experiment is designed to look for X-ray sources in the energy range from 0.2 to 2 keV and analyze the flux for spectral lines and time variation. Curves showing the spectral energy flux of the Vela SNR and the Crab SNR with its central pulsars are presented. The upper limits found for the pulsed flux in the X-ray region from Vela are below the extrapolated valves of the radio and gamma flux.
